Cannot sign in?
Email [email protected] from the address you use for Sponkly, with the subject "Delete my Sponkly account". We delete it within 30 days and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, username and phone number
- Your profile picture, including the stored image file
- Your password, two-step verification and backup codes
- Every signed-in session and device, push notification registrations, and your Google or Apple sign-in link (Sign in with Apple is also revoked at Apple)
- Your sign-in history: last sign-in address and place, security and activity logs about your account
- Your encryption keys, encrypted messages still waiting for your devices, the pictures, voice messages and files you sent in chats, and your live locations; you leave your groups
- Your website subscription, which is cancelled at once so you are not charged again, and your customer record at our payment provider (Stripe) and in-app purchase service (RevenueCat)
A subscription bought in the App Store or Google Play can only be cancelled there. Cancel it in your Apple or Google account settings, or the store keeps charging you.
What is kept, and for how long
- Meetings you hosted stay visible to the other people in them, shown as hosted by "Deleted User". Messages you sent in those meetings are shown the same way.
- Chat messages you already sent stay on the other people’s phones, end-to-end encrypted as before, shown as from "Deleted User" (the files in them are gone).
- Meeting transcripts are deleted automatically 30 days after the meeting.
- Payment records are kept for 2 years, because tax law requires it. They are not used for anything else.
- An App Store or Google Play subscription can only be cancelled by you in the store; the app reminds you when you delete your account.
- Reports other people made about an account are kept for moderation.
- Security logs are kept for at most 90 days.
