Every message arrives in your language
Messages are translated on your phone the moment they arrive, into the language of whoever reads them. Tap a message to show the original under it, and tap again to hide it. The bar above the keyboard always shows which language you write in and which one the other person reads.

Photos, videos, GIFs and stickers
Say it with a picture
Send photos and videos from the camera or your library, with a caption that is translated like any message. Tap the smiley button for emoji, or search GIPHY for a GIF or a sticker in any word. A message of one to three emoji is shown big, without a bubble.

Voice messages
Voice messages you can hear in your language
Tap the microphone and talk for up to 5 minutes. Your phone writes out what you said, and the other person reads it translated under the recording. Prefer to listen? Play in your language reads the message aloud in the listener's language, and Original plays the sender's own voice.

View once, places and documents
For the things that matter
Turn on View once and the next message, photo or video can be opened one time: it disappears when it is closed, and you see Opened. Share where you are, or your live location while you are on the way. And send documents, which stay end-to-end encrypted like everything else.

Sent something by mistake? Remove your message for everyone within 48 hours.
Typing and read ticks
See when someone is typing. One tick means sent; blue double ticks mean everyone has read it.
Notifications that keep quiet
A notification shows the sender's name and photo and the kind of message, such as Photo or Voice message, never what it says.
Mute a chat
Silence a busy chat or group from its menu, on your phone or in the browser.
Find friends from your contacts
See which of your contacts already use Sponkly and invite the rest by WhatsApp, SMS, Telegram or another app. Phone numbers are compared, never stored.
Block and report
Blocked people can't message or call you and aren't told. Report spam or abuse to our moderators in two taps.
Group chats where everyone reads their own language
Plan a trip, run a team or stay close to family across countries. Each member writes and reads in their own language, in the same group.

Privacy
End-to-end encrypted, with a code you can check
Messages, photos, videos, documents and voice messages are encrypted on your phone for the other person's phone. Sponkly only passes on what it cannot read. Compare the 60-digit security code once to be sure you are talking to the right person.

Encrypted backup, in your own storage
Changing phones or reinstalling? Back up your chats with a passphrase only you know. On iPhone the backup goes to your iCloud Drive; on Android to a folder you choose, such as Google Drive. Sponkly never receives it, and without the passphrase nobody can open it, not even Sponkly.

An app lock, and two-factor sign-in
Keep your chats to yourself even when someone else holds your phone. With App lock, Sponkly opens only with Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint or your phone's PIN, pattern or passcode. Two-factor sign-in protects your account itself, in the app and on the website.

Chats are in every plan. Plans differ in translated messages, room for files and groups.
Translated messages in every plan
The free trial includes 300 translated messages; Starter 3,000 a month, Professional 10,000, Business 30,000 and Enterprise unlimited. Messages in the same language are always unlimited.
Room for your files
Photos, videos, voice messages and documents you send are kept encrypted for the chat: the free trial has 100 MB, Starter 1 GB, Professional 10 GB, Business 50 GB and Enterprise 100 GB. Delete chats with files to make room.
Also in your browser
Link a browser to your phone with a QR code and read and write your chats at sponkly.com: text, photos, GIFs and files, replies, reactions and groups. They stay end-to-end encrypted; where the browser can translate on its own, as Chrome does, messages are translated there, never on a server. Voice messages, locations and view-once messages are sent from the app.
